Hello 40+ Racquetball Players!!

Please join us in Colorado Springs this summer for our 2025 NMRA International Championships, Thursday through Saturday, July 10-12, 2025.

We are so excited to be visiting downtown Colorado Springs again, and we can’t wait to explore the Colorado Springs area and the Downtown YMCA’s six courts. Joe Williams has been instrumental in getting us to his home town, with a great choice of the historic Antlers Hotel* (https://antlers.com/), including all of the retail wonders of downtown plus the Rocky Mountain splendor of the surrounding area.

We will continue our tradition of offering 40+ round robin competition in five-year age increments. Everyone plays every day, so don’t book your flight home early. Colorado Springs is at 6,200 feet elevation; I STRONGLY recommend coming in a few days early to get used to the oxygen level and the crazy bounce as well as to see some sights and relax before competition ramps up!

We offer a social check-in night on Wednesday, July 9, with food and beverages and court practice to get all of your event questions answered. First-time NMRA participants are especially encouraged to stop in between 5 pm and 8 pm where all players will pick up their tournament player packet, have a light dinner, and go over the special nuances of this round robin format.

For all the information you need on this tournament, click here to go to the www.nmra.info site and see the Information Sheet for the tournament. You’ll want to print it to refer to as you plan your trip, make your reservations, and travel to the event. To register and find the link for the hotel, visit R2Sports.com

For this three-day tourney, the first event is $165; second division are $35 and, if you play two divisions, one of these must be doubles. You may request a doubles partner and/or a roommate and we will do our best to accommodate. Enter online by June 30. You’ll get food and fun all weekend in addition to our famous banquet slideshow and a great tournament shirt.

No refunds will be allowed after June 30, when shirts will have been ordered and matches scheduled.

Thanks to Daren Girling and his crew for allowing us to use the Downtown YMCA. Joe Williams is our local club member contact, and he is also known to put on the National Senior Games events. Joe can give us lots of recommendations for restaurants and activities in the area. There are also many activity suggestions listed at our nmra.info site, but a big highlight will be the Olympic Museum right by the club. Of course, Denver is less than an hour away, too.

* Our host hotel will be the historic Antlers Hotel. There are plenty of shops and coffee and breweries in the nearby blocks, including breakfast places. We were given a great room rate of $199 per night for one or two persons for a king or two-bed room. Please take advantage of this deal, as there will be shuttle service by Joe Williams (402.309.4260) from the host hotel only. Of course, walking the few blocks will also be a great option in beautiful weather. Book your rooms early, as there are only 20 rooms blocked off for us at the Antlers. The Friday night banquet will be there in the meeting area. If these rooms fill up, we can try to reserve more rooms.

Call or email us if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you in Colorado Springs at check-in night on Wednesday, July 9, at about 5:00 pm. As always, please call if you have questions, concerns, suggestions, need a partner, or anything at all. Watch for a reminder email in your inbox soon!

Last year in July, we had a combined IRF / NMRA World Seniors Racquetball Championship with IRF contact Gary Mazaroff. This year, Gary will be hosting the IRF World Senior Racquetball Championships in Las Vegas, New Mexico (its recent home city) the last week of August going into the Labor Day weekend. Sign up now for that 35+ round robin event as well!
