Year 3! Another Great WorldWide Racquetball Day
by Cindy Tilbury & Jonathan Greenberg
All across the racquetball globe, players and organizers of indoor and outdoor tournaments participated in the 2025 WorldWide Racquetball Day (and weekend), September 6-7.
A number of events were held in the United States, including this year’s Grand Slam pro event for both IRT and LPRT players in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Jim Hiser and his volunteer group organized the event entitled “World Singles & Doubles Racquetball Championships” for two years since the last one took place. The pro matches were spectacular, and the addition of the Mixed Pro division was riveting with the ladies’ skills beyond amazing. Congratulations to the winning Mixed Doubles team of Paola Longoria and Conrrado Moscoso!
An extra-special part of the many facets of the event hosted at Highlands Ranch was the Saturday banquet that coincided with WorldWide Racquetball Day. USA Racquetball Hall of Famers had come in to reunite and be honored at the dinner, and before that main event, the attendees were treated to a moving video created by Jim Hiser that highlighted how global our sport is. With so many countries and specialty-focused areas of our sport, it’s great to be reminded that pro/am tournaments are only a small part of the big picture. A huge thank-you goes to Jim Hiser for compiling photos of the country teams and creating the video that was set to “We Are The World.”
Meanwhile, around the world, there were tournaments and get-togethers in at least ten other countries plus at least ten cities in the United States. If you had an event, please send photos and videos to document your celebration!
The 4th Annual WorldWide Racquetball Day will be September 5, 2026, and it’s not too soon to start planning. The Tournament Director kit will be updated shortly with 2026 logos and calendars and drawsheet examples. If you have any questions about hosting a WorldWide Racquetball event (or some great creative ideas to share!), please contact Cindy Tilbury or Jonathan Greenberg—the keepers of the WorldWide Racquetball Day event map.
