Colorado Springs, Colorado -- Mike Wedel, Executive Director of USA Racquetball, has resigned effective October 7, 2022, citing personal reasons for his departure. The Board of Directors has determined that Board President Stewart Solomon will serve in an Interim Executive Director role on a volunteer basis effective October 8, 2022.
"The Board thanks Mike Wedel for his leadership during one of the most challenging periods in the history of our sport,” Solomon said. “The pandemic took a heavy toll on USA Racquetball and Mike worked steadfastly on behalf of the Association and always with its best interests in mind.”
Over the coming weeks, Wedel and all of USA Racquetball will continue to focus on ensuring the 26th Annual US OPEN Racquetball Championships is a success. The transition from Wedel to Solomon has already begun in an effort to make it as seamless as possible for the racquetball community. Members can expect to see continuing communication as we move through the transition and are encouraged to reach out to Solomon with any questions at president@usaracquetball.com.
USA Racquetball plans to publish an Executive Director position description in the near future. The timing of an Executive Director interview process and anticipated start date is yet to be determined.
