USA Racquetball is Proud to Announce the 2026 Scholarship Recipients

USA Racquetball is proud to announce the recipients of our 2026 USA Racquetball Scholarships. Since the inception of the scholarship in 1990, over $85,000 has been awarded to more than 120 individuals.
Thank you to everyone who applied for the 2026 USA Racquetball Scholarship. This year’s pool of applicants was amazing, and it was extremely challenging to narrow the field down to five recipients.
The 2026 USA Racquetball Scholarship recipients include: Amelia Bennett (Lynchburg, VA), Emily Ellison (Saint Louis, MO), Sumayya Khaja (Saint Louis, MO), Stella Ortwerth (Saint Louis, MO), and Roman Ray (Miami Beach, FL).
Amelia Bennett (Lynchburg, Virginia) is currently a student at Liberty University majoring in Nursing and plays on the Racquetball club team. In addition to Racquetball, Amelia also excels in musical talent, earned a music scholarship, performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, and has maintained a 4.0 grade point average.
Emily Ellison (Saint Louis, Missouri) is a student at Lindbergh High School (Class of 2026). In high school Emily is on the Golf team, Racquetball team, and Lacrosse team. She has been a scholar athlete all 4 years of high school. In addition to multiple High School Racquetball National Medals, she made All Conference Honorable Mention in Golf. In college, Emily plans to attend Ole Miss and study Biomedical Engineering.
Sumayya Khaja (Saint Louis, Missouri) is a student at Lindbergh High School (Class of 2026). In high school Sumayya is on both the Racquetball team and Tennis team. In addition to sports, Sumayya is active in the Muslim Student Association, Health Occupations Students of America, Science Olympiad, and Future Business Leaders of America. In college, Sumayya wants to study Biology.
Stella Ortwerth (Saint Louis, Missouri) is a student at Lindbergh High School (Class of 2026). In high school Stella played both Racquetball and Tennis. She is a multiple time Scholar Athlete recipient and won countless medals in racquetball at the state and national level in singles and doubles. In addition, in college Stella wants to study Civil Engineering & Architecture.
Roman Ray (Miami Beach, Florida) is a student at Marine Academy of Science and Technology at FIU (Class of 2026). In high school Roman was active in Water Polo, Swimming, and Racquetball. He also served as Student Government Class President and is a Nationals Merit Semi-finalist. He was also involved with Robotics Club, Coding Club, Mu Alpha Theta, and National Honor Society (President). In college Roman wants to major in Mechanical Engineering and minor in Computer Science.
Congratulations to all the 2026 USA Racquetball Scholarship recipients. Applications for the 2027 USA Racquetball Scholarship will open in the Fall.
