USA Racquetball is Proud to Announce the 2025 Scholarship Recipients

USA Racquetball is proud to announce the recipients of our 2025 USA Racquetball Scholarships. Since the inception of the scholarship in 1990, over $80,000 has been awarded to more than 115 individuals.

Thank you to everyone who applied for the 2025 USA Racquetball Scholarship.  This year’s pool of applicants was amazing and it was extremely challenging to narrow the field down to five recipients.  

The 2025 USA Racquetball Scholarship recipients include: Ryan George (Saint Louis, MO), Gerardo Gomez-Garcia (Austin, TX), Jack Strobach (Kirkwood, MO), John Vonder Bruegge (Kirkwood, MO), and Ellen Williams (Wildwood, MO).

Ryan George (Saint Louis, Missouri) is a student at Lindbergh High School (Class of 2025).  In high school Ryan played both Tennis & Racquetball for Lindbergh and was a Captain on the Racquetball team. He is an active member in over 12 student clubs, volunteers as a tutor, dog-sitter, & babysitter, and has a 4.2 GPA. In college Ryan wants to major in Communications and minor in Spanish.

Gerardo Gomez-Garcia (Austin, Texas) is currently a student at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in Civil Engineering and plays on the Racquetball club team and serves as the team President. Most recently he represented his college as the #1 singles player and part of the #1 doubles team at the recent 2025 Intercollegiate Championships.

Jack Strobach (Kirkwood, Missouri) is a student at Kirkwood High School (Class of 2025). In high school Jack is on the Swim & Dive team, Racquetball team, and Tennis team. In addition to sports, Jack is active in STL Young Life and participates in CAPS International. On the racquetball court, Jack was key part of a National Championship team all 4 years of high school. In college, Jack wants to study Biomedical Engineering. 

John Vonder Bruegge (Kirkwood, Missouri) is a student at Kirkwood High School (Class of 2025). In high school John played both Racquetball and Golf. In addition, John participated in STL Young Life, was a volunteer racquetball coach (and team captain), worked in lawn care, and was a caddy, all while John had a 4.1 GPA. On the racquetball court, John was a key part of a National Championship team all 4 years of high school. In college John wants to study Engineering. 

Ellen Williams (Wildwood, MO) is a student at Ursuline Academy (Class of 2025). In high school Ellen served as Student Government President and President of the Ambassador Program. She had over 300 service hours, worked for the Pond Athletic Association (umpire, grounds crew, and concession stand), and was President of the Gateway Racquetball Foundation. On the racquetball court Ellen was a Varsity player for all 4 years of high school. In college Ellen wants to study Psychology and Special Education. 

Congratulations to all of the 2025 USA Racquetball Scholarship recipients. Applications for the 2026 USA Racquetball Scholarship will open in the Fall.
