In Early August the Racquetball world would have been shocked and excited to see over 50 energetic and enthusiastic kids pour into Vetta Concord in Saint Louis, MO to work on their racquetball craft over the next 5 days!

History of the Elite Camp:

First Elite camp was in 1983. It was held at the Olympic training center. After the Olympic training center, the camp was moved to the Denver Athletic Club. The elite camp has been around for almost 42 years making it the longest running racquetball camp in the world. It was a very adult heavy camp, and since migrating over to Saint Louis it has become a junior camp essentially.

2025 Elite Camp:

This year’s camp was held in Saint Louis, MO. It was a long, but fun week for all the players and coaches. The activities started at 8am and concluded at 3:30PM. This year's camp had 55 kids who were eager to improve their racquetball craft but also engage in a fun racquetball community with kids from other schools in the Saint Louis Area. As I am writing this article, I realize this was my 3rd year working at the elite camp and I believe this was one of the best groups of kids. They made it such a memorable and fun week. This camp would not be possible without the help of all the volunteer coaches: Dan Whitley, Dan Witt, Ella Boaz, Edwin Miller, Chris Wright, Shari Coplan, Mike Greenberg, Manny Rodriguez, Jorge Suarez, Grant Williams, Jonathan Greenberg, Thomas Carter, and last but not least Jim Winterton. These coaches always had a smile and helped make this a memorable week for the kids.

A few specials thanks to ProKennex for supplying some prizes for the kids at the end of the camp, as well as Brandi Boaz & Colleen Williams who shared a helping hand all week long.

The camp this year took a full year of planning. It was a well-structured schedule covering everything from serve technique, to training schedules. It was a jam-packed week of knowledge and fun! A fun tournament ended the week & Team Greenberg won!!!

This camp shows that racquetball is alive and well thanks to STL coaches, Thomas Carter, & Jim Winterton.
