Colorado Springs, CO -- USA Racquetball announces the resignation of Director of National Events, Connor Shane, effective February 10, 2023.
Shane joined USA Racquetball February 2020 with the primary responsibility of managing and directing the US OPEN as well as the other USA Racquetball National Championships. While directing these national championships, he established business relationships between USA Racquetball and local tourism and hotel entities.
Shane said, “My time at USA Racquetball has been very rewarding and I have met some of the most passionate people in my life. It saddens me to leave a community that has been built on camaraderie, competition, and fun. I am excited about new opportunities in my life and career, but I will miss the excitement and genuineness the racquetball community has given me.”
Shane has resigned to pursue an opportunity within the sports marketing industry as the Chief Operating Officer for the largest LGBTQ+ sports media company in the U.S. His February 10th resignation date allows him to close out the National Doubles & Singles Championships (taking place in Tempe, Arizona, February 1- 5) and to allow for a thorough information download to Executive Director Mike Grisz.
Grisz states, “Connor was an asset to USA Racquetball. I wish him success.”
“The Board thanks Connor for his commitment to try to build up our National Events and the US OPEN in the face of global adverse conditions, and we wish him well in his future endeavors,” said Stewart Solomon, President of the Board of Directors.
USA Racquetball will strategize on the best path forward for the organization with regards to this position. During this time, the organization will be a fully volunteer organization with the support of key contractors. Anyone interested in providing volunteer support during this time is encouraged to reach out to Mike Grisz (mgrisz@aol.com) and Stewart Solomon (president@usaracquetball.com).
