U.S. JUNIOR TEAM QUALIFYING DIVISIONS
Boys & Girls U.S. Junior Team Qualifying divisions are defined as follows:
Esprit Cup divisions: 10 & Under, 12 & Under, and 14 & Under
World Cup divisions: 16 & Under, 18 & Under, and 21 & Under
SUMMARY ON RALLY SCORING FOR U.S. JUNIOR TEAM QUALIFYING (GOLD) DIVISIONS
Junior Team USA Qualifying divisions (Esprit Cup and World Cup) will play using IRF Rally Scoring. With rally scoring, a point is earned at the end of each rally by the winner of the rally, regardless of whether the winner of the rally is the server or the receiver.
Team USA Qualifying (Gold) divisions and scoring rules apply to Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles divisions.
- TEAM USA Gold Divisions ONLY
- 3 out of 5 games
- Rally Scoring to 11 -- all games win by two points
*Dropping out of Gold Division reverts back to standard USA Racquetball scoring*
FORMATS
For non-round-robin divisions: Olympic Format with 4 flights in each age group, Gold, Blue, Red & White, thus ensuring that a player typically has a minimum of 3 matches per division and eventually plays against similarly skilled players during the event. In some situations, a bye will count as a match.
Olympic Format progression, i.e., full draws that are not round robin format.
- Those players who win their first and second round matches will remain in the Gold division.
- Those who lose their first round match in the Gold division will move to the Red division. Those who win their first round match in the Red division will remain there. Those who lose their first round in the Red division will move to the White division and remain there.
- Those who lose their second round match in the Gold division will move to the Blue division and remain there.
We wish safe travels to those who are attending, and we can’t wait to see you there!
