by USA Racquetball
The USA Racquetball Board of Directors, at the recommendation of the selection group responsible for analyzing submissions and conducting interviews, has appointed Joshua Jones of St. Louis, Missouri, to serve in the role of National Rules Commissioner, effective May 13, 2025.
USA Racquetball extends its gratitude to Dan Horner, who is also State Director of the Iowa Racquetball Association, for his service as National Rules Commissioner over the past several years.
Regarding his new role, Josh commented, “I am honored to be chosen as USA Racquetball's next National Rules Commissioner. I want to thank my predecessor, Dan Horner, for his years of service to USA Racquetball. I am excited to work with the Board of Directors, Officers, and Athlete Representatives to ensure that USA Racquetball's rules are comprehensive, easily understandable, and meet the needs of today's game. More importantly, I look forward to serving USA Racquetball's members by providing clear and timely answers to rule questions and by producing fun and informative content for future publications. The sport of racquetball has meant so much to my family and me, and I look forward to playing a role in its growth and development.”
Josh was first introduced to the sport of racquetball by his father, Rick. Josh's wife, Rebecca, started the Lindbergh High School Racquetball Team in 2011. Josh joined the team as an assistant coach and became its head coach in 2014 when Josh and Rebecca welcomed their first child. Today, they have two children, both of whom have already started playing racquetball. Professionally, Josh works as an Assistant United States Attorney in St. Louis, primarily focused on recovery of restitution for crime victims. In his free time, Josh enjoys playing racquetball (naturally).
“USA Racquetball warmly welcomes Josh Jones to the role of National Rules Commissioner,” said USA Racquetball Board of Directors President Kristin Wattz. “His knowledge and business experience both inside and outside of racquetball, along with his passion for the game, will be a great asset to our association and our sport.”
In his new role as National Rules Commissioner, Josh will chair the National Rules Committee. With a deep knowledge and understanding of the rules of the game, he will welcome questions from members and respond timely along with featuring some each month in USA Racquetball’s Serving Up the News monthly newsletter feature Rules Rule!
