USA RACQUETBALL HIGH PERFORMANCE COMMISSION CREATED FOR ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT AND FUTURE COMPETITIVE SUCCESS

In accordance with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and other National Governing Bodies, a long-standing goal of USA Racquetball has been to form a High Performance Commission to provide development in the areas outlined in the chart above.

Pablo Fajre, in addition to his role as U.S. Team Coach, was named to the role of High Performance Director in April 2026. (Please view the chart above.) Watch for more detailed information in Serving Up the News and on the USA Racquetball website as the considerable work surrounding the High Performance Commission unfolds.

There are many initiatives that come under the three initial High Performance headings (red boxes on the chart). To get started, one initiative under each is in progress:

Athlete Development : Standardized Training System (STS)

Objective: Deliver a junior-to-adult pathway to international performance excellence.

Status: Pablo Fajre is developing USA Racquetball’s High Performance Standardized Training System (STS) to help bring increased consistency to athlete coaching and training methods across the country.

Rules & Regulations: Ranking & Seeding Processes

Objective: Provide consistency relative to competition draws in national championship competitions.

Status: A Ranking & Seeding Group, facilitated by Director of National Events Jonathan Greenberg, has been formed to develop and apply consistent seeding processes when preparing draws for national championships competitions.

View: The group’s work to date has produced a seeding process document for the  National High School Championships, National Intercollegiate Championships, and National Junior Championships. It can be viewed on the USA Racquetball website: HERE

Qualification Criteria: U.S. Junior Team Coaching Structure

Objective: Develop a U.S. Junior Team Coaching Structure that focuses on coach/athlete relationships and standardized training methodology.

Status: As an aspect of USA Racquetball’s High Performance Commission work that began earlier this year, the U.S. Team Committee recommended, and the Board of Directors approved, a different Junior coaching staff approach that will be implemented for the U.S. Junior Team in preparation for the IRF World Junior Championships later this year.

Beginning directly after the formation of the U.S. Junior Team in late June, a modified approach will enter the implementation phase. Jen Meyer, an assistant U.S. Junior Team coach for 23 years, has been named Coach Director for the delegation that will compete at IRF World Juniors.

View: Visit USARacquetball.com/Meet Team USA/Junior National Team/2026-2027 U.S. Junior Team Procedures & Protocols Handbook. The Handbook identifies the USA Racquetball staff member roles as Coach Director, Official Coaches, Team Leader, and Physical Therapist/Athletic Trainer.  These individuals will support U.S. Junior Team athletes prior to and at the IRF World Junior Championships (location and dates TBD).

The USA Racquetball Board of Directors and Staff warmly thank Pablo Fajre, Jen Meyer, and the members of the Ranking & Seeding Group (Jonathan Greenberg, Pablo Fajre, Dan Whitley, Larry Haemmerle, Sandy Long, and Michelle Andersen) for their time, dedication, and expertise as these first High Performance initiatives move forward.
