Kane Waselenchuk made his return to men's professional racquetball by winning the 2008 Motorola IRT World Racquetball Championships
presented by Verizon Wireless. Kane was forced to play three rounds of qualifying matches before reaching the round of 16. He then defeated No. 7 Ben Croft, No. 2 Jack Huczek, No. 3 Alvaro Beltran and then No. 1 Rocky Carson in the finals, winning 11-6, 11-6, 8-11, 8-11, 11-1.
"I think I would have to say that seven matches is my limit," said Kane. "It feels good to back where I belong. I had alot of fun out here today and I hope it showed in my play."
Kane came into the tournament unranked and fought his way round by round with some amazing shots and superior tenacity. The event also featured the all new acrylic Lucite portable court that was set-up in downtown Denver near the 16th Skyline Mall.
